Bio
I was born in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, where I lived most of my life. In 1997, after I got my B.A. in Letras, with a double degree in Portuguese and English, I taught Portuguese and English as second languages at Universidade Federal do Ceará and English at Universidade de Fortaleza. In search of new adventures, in July of 2000, I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, where I got my M.A. in Portuguese from the University of New Mexico (UNM). New Mexico was quite the challenge at first, but worth every dust storm and green chili stew - not to mention the seasonal allergies. - Oh, well, is life ever perfect? - As time went by it grew on me. Actually it grew so much that I can't get it off anymore. New Mexico is now a big part of my life. It is the home of my most significant other, a beautiful native of this wonderful brown place, who I happened to marry in the spring of 2005. No wonder they call it "The Land of Enchantment". I am sure this is all just the beginning, much more is yet to come. Hopefully, I will have received my Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics from UNM before I have repopulated the state of New Mexico. ;^)
