Anna was born on July 26, 1862, in Botetourt Co., Va. She was educated in the public schools, also taught in the same and in Roanoke College. On Dec. 5, 1883 she married George Augustus Willis, born Aug. 31, 1853. He was the son of Jonathan and Arabella (Phlegar) Willis. Mr. Willis was educated in the public schools, spent 2 years at Roanoke College (Va.); clerked 10 years in a country store, and taught 6 years in the public schools. He became superintendent of schools of Floyd Co., Va., July 1, 1885, to July 1, 1896. He is a mill owner, farmer and lumber manufacturer. They in Floyd Co., Va.

They had five children, surname Willis:

1. Eula Meade, born Feb. 28, 1885; recieved A. B. from Roanoke
College in 1905, and A. M. in 1909. She taught English in Chester High
School, Chester, S. C.

2. Julias Dreher, M. D., born Aug. 10, 1886; educated in Roanoke
College, Medical College of Va. (M. D.). He was the resident physician
at Abingdon, Hospital; interne Roosevelt Hosp.; address, Lewis Gale
Hospital, Roanoke, Va.

3. Peter Archer, born Sept. 20, 1888.

4. George Armand, born May 8, 1891.

5. Lena Phlegar, born Nov. 27, 1892.
