This month I'd like to start by saying that I was really happy to get some great member input at the last meeting regarding my proposed 2015 activities. As I mentioned at the membership meeting, if you have any other activity suggestions let me or a board member know about it. The board and I will always be discussing what, when and where to hold our monthly activities for the upcoming months. Over the next three months we are having our annual Christmas party, a Saturday breakfast in January and a Garage tour in February. Remember this is your club and your input is always welcome but your contribution, whether it be attending an activity or actual chairing an activity, is what makes these events happen. I know many of you have been doing the same chores for our club for years and believe me it is extremely appreciated. A big "Thank you" to all of you who contribute this way. What I'm asking for is help from all members in whatever activity they feel they can best contribute their assistance. Let's all share in the chores and we'll all enjoy our club even more. It's what made this club survive for all these many years. So let's make it happen! You know, the last few sentences of that paragraph sounded a lot like a pep talk I remember getting when I played on my junior high school basketball team. We were playing a parochial school in a Christmas tournament and before the game started a priest showed up in our locker room and he asked us all to gather around and then he began to give this great motivational speech. Well when the priest was almost finished speaking and had us really revved up to play, the assistant coach from the opposing team came into our locker room to inform the priest that he was delivering the speech to the wrong team. Anyway, it was too late and needless to say we played great and we went on to win. After the game, our coach said to us maybe we should track down that priest for future games because that was the best he had ever seen us play. Although the priest's words weren't meant for us we still took advantage of them and I believe there's no sense in letting good advice go to waste. Before I talk more about the next three months, let me take this opportunity to thank Steve and Rita Gongora for another great Auction/Potluck/Bingo evening. They have been hosting this evening for years and CNM truly would like to say "Thank you Steve and Rita for all these great evenings over the years!" As usual we had plenty of good food to enjoy and a lot of neat auction items to bid on. In addition to the auction we also had a lot of family fun by playing several games of Bingo. This evening is one of the few fund raisers we have, so thank you to all who donated their auction items, played Bingo and brought a potluck dish. The club made $439.50 on this year's auction and Bingo, so great job everyone! I would also like to recognize John Wiker with a special thank you for being the Master of ceremonies for the Bingo and auction evening. Great job John! Moving on, our annual Christmas party is scheduled for December 13, 2014 from 1:30 to 3:30 at the Highland Senior Center located at 131 Monroe NE. This year our Christmas party will be a potluck affair with the club providing a couple of hams and the membership bringing the side dishes to complement the dinner. So start thinking about the side dish you'd like to bring. The board also decided to donate to both the Albuquerque Rescue Mission and The Storehouse this Christmas. Thank you to both Dave Huntoon and Vickie Hall for all the leg work they did in finding these two very worthy organizations to donate to. The items they need are new or gently used clothing for children, women and men, nonperishable canned foods items, and really, just about anything else. Please contribute to either organization as you prefer and we'll get our donated items to them. On Saturday January 10, 2015 at 10am we will be having a club breakfast in Edgewood. Our new members, Dan & Lisa Thompson have extended an invitation to their place of business. It is called Dough-Re-Mi Bake Shop and is located 1.6 miles north of Old Route 66 at 150 State Highway 344. Sounds like a possible caravan out to Edgewood for this breakfast get together. We'll sort out all the details at the next membership meeting. For February, Robert Gold is working on getting a Garage tour at the Old Car Garage and we'll get more information to you as soon as we get it. Should be interesting! Well, it's the holiday season once again and here's hoping you and your loved ones have a great Thanksgiving. Remember to plan on attending this year's Christmas party and getting the season started out right. I know I'm looking forward to it! I guess that's enough said for now, so I'll see you at the next club meeting. -- Trujillo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MEETING MINUTES 11-05-2014 Anne Mae Gold Meeting: called to order at 7:08 PM and adjourned at 8:12 PM. Approval of previous meeting minutes: approved. President: (Ray) ecognized Dave for his service as club president during the last year. VP: (Tarmo was not present.) Secretary: (Anne Mae) had nothing new to report. Treasurer: (Robert) $4,611.57 in our account. Membership: (Larry, not present.) Car Council: (Robert) no new meetings until January. The swap meet is growing. The Car Council is banning someone from the Swap Meet because of fighting. Money was made, lots of cars were there. Editor: (Jim) newsletter deadline is Friday November 21. The Tri-State will be May 29-30-31, 2015 in Durango. Watch the webpage for further information. Sunshine: (Heula) has a sign-up sheet for the Christmas dinner. Every member who attends will be given a gift. Merchandise: (Vickie) nothing new has been sold. Terry Price and Gordon Johnson donated some items. Upcoming Events: Saturday November 8 at 5:00 PM -- Bingo Night and White Elephant auction at House of Covers. Everyone please bring a pot luck dish to share. Bring dollar bills! Former member Dr. Jim Matthews called up Larry Blair and gave him a couple of items that can be used in the auction. The items were given to Vickie for safe keeping. Ray told us that he bought his first Corvair from Dr. Matthews. On Veterans' Day, Tuesday November 11 at 9:00 AM an Entry Parade will begin at Bullhead Park using vintage military vehicles. There will be music at 10:00 AM, and Tim Hale will be the guest speaker. Saturday December 13 at 1:30 to 3:30 PM -- our Christmas party at the Highland Senior Center. The club will supply a couple of hams and everyone will bring the sides, salads, and desserts. The Senior Center closes at 4:00 PM, so we need to clean up and be out by then. Every year we donate to different charities, this year we are still looking for a charity that we can donate to. Dave looked online and found Albuquerque Rescue Mission. ARM has a nice facility where they feed and educate people. Dave says this is a possibility because all donations stay in house. They take non-perishable food stuffs, toiletries, household goods. They gather school supplies for the children and new and gently used clothes as well. They are located on Second Street, south of Central. Vickie called around. Boys and Girls Club wants new only. She left messages at various places and no one called her back. She talked to The Storehouse. They will take anything and everything and redistribute it to those in need. They are at 106 Broadway. Both places sound very worthy. These two places will be discussed at the board meeting and a decision will be made then. Proposed 2015 Activities: Please know that just because a person has taken on a task one year, they should not be expected to automatically do it from there on out. Please do not be afraid to volunteer to do something for and in the club. Please let Ray know if you'd like to plan or hold an event. Pat Hall would like to have an "on the job training" TUNA during a slow month. Please give Pat suggestions in writing. [JAN] Breakfast in Edgewood at Dough-Re-Mi Bake Shop. [FEB] Garage tour? Old Car Garage has a new facility, maybe we could go on a tour out there. Robert will talk to OCG and see. Ray will talk to LeRoy. [MAR] Our 41st Anniversary Dinner and the return of the Meissner Award. [APR] Driving tour? Steve suggested we contact Dick Cochran, our member in Grants, about going on a tour of Old Route 66. Possibly go to the mining museum. Steve will call him and see if he would be willing to do that. [MAY] Albuquerque Museum Car Show on the 17th, Tri-State in Durango on the 29th. [JUN] Good time for the TUNA? Maybe set up a Fun-kana event for the club at a large parking lot area. The CORSA National Convention is in Knoxville, Tennessee, June 24-27. [JUL] Santa Fe Fourth of July Car Show on the plaza. [AUG] Annual Car Council Picnic at Oak Flat on the 9th. [SEP] State Fair Car Show, Los Lunas Swap Meet on the 26th. [OCT] Discussed setting up a driving tour to see the aspens. Possibilities mentioned were Santa Fe ski area, Rancho de Chimayo and Truchas, Fourth of July Canyon. A caravan down to Silver City to see Curtis Shimp was also mentioned. [NOV] Auction/Potluck/Bingo night at House of Covers. [DEC] Christmas Party and this year's charity donations. Larry Blair pointed out that many members are retired. It may be possible to plan some tours for daytime hours on week days. He said that he would provide the Board with some ideas for possible tours. Jim Pittman did a short tech "reminder" on the hows and whys of carburetor venting based on an article in a recent CORSA Communique. The 50/50 raffle was won by Steve Johnson. The total pot was $17.00, he won $8.50 which he donated to the Sunshine group. Just before adjourning Pat invited all members to go down to the Thursday auction at Doty's Auctions in Peralta. Pat will have two Corvairs in the auction. Doty's is in the big blue building across from the Post Office in Peralta. The auction begins at 6:00 PM. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BOARD MEETING MINUTES -- 11-19-2014 Anne Mae Gold President (Ray) discussed the Christmas dinner at Highland Senior Center. They will provide the room, a microphone, coffee and a large table for the food. The club will supply two hams. At the next membership meeting Ray will put out a list for members to sign up for the pot luck items. We discussed the two places for donations that were mentioned at the last meeting. Both "The Storehouse" and the "Albuquerque Rescue Mission" will take just about anything. Do we want to donate to both places? The consensus was yes. Members can bring anything they want: food items, gently used clothing for all ages, linens, etc. Vice-President (Tarmo) would like to see more activity having to do with cars. Both Tarmo and David are willing to work around people's schedules to help out with their car problems. Treasurer (Robert) reported that we have $4,614.83 in the checking account. Membership Chair (Larry Yoffe) said he plans to be more active when spring comes around. He would like to plan activities that would attract people to the club. He is open to suggestions. Things he has done in the past include placing ads on Craig's list to let people know about the club. Editor (Jim) said the newsletter deadline is this coming Friday, Nov. 21. He received several emails from the Colorado clubs about the Tri-State. The host hotel for the Tri-State is the Hampton Inn for $110 per night. Information is on Jim's website and on Rocky Mountain CORSA's web site. Larry said he had already booked his room at the Hampton Inn. David said it is within walking distance of downtown. The Tri-State will be the last weekend in May (29-30-31) and we should "talk up" the event to get all our members to attend. Jim said we could emphasize technical topics in our meetings such as the "carburetor venting" article from the November CORSA Comunique. Sunshine Chair (Heula) said the Sunshine committee is making something for each CNM member who attends the Christmas dinner. She asked whether the December board meeting was necessary. We decided we could cancel it and conduct any needed business via email. Car Council Representative (Robert) said he had no official report, since the Car Council will not meet until January. Robert repeated his earlier suggestion about trying to set up a garage tour at the Old Car Garage and said he had spoken to Bob Agnew who would be happy to schedule a time for us. Robert also mentioned that Bill Sullivan was a very good friend of Wendy's. He would be willing to come out and talk to the group and share stories about him and Wendy including trips they made and other old car activities. New Business: 2015 Proposed Activities [JAN] Dan Thompson and wife Lisa are the owners of Dough Re Mi Bake Shop in Edgewood. We have been invited to have breakfast there. We picked Saturday, January 10th at 10:00 AM. Maybe we could meet about 9:30 AM and caravan from the Smith's parking lot at Tramway & Central. Should we have a contingency plan if there is snow? If there is snow, we will move it to the following Saturday, January 17th. [FEB] Garage tour at Old Car Garage on February 7th. We will solicit nominations for the Meissner Award at the general membership meetings in February and March. [MAR] Anniversary Dinner. Ray will ask at the next membership meeting for volunteers to set up the dinner. Awards will be given out at this time. We will use John's point system and nominations received, and the board will make the final decision on who will receive the award. [APR] Ray contacted Steve Gongora who has talked to Dick Cochran about a driving tour to Grants. Steve said it was a go. The first Old Route 66 clean-up of the year will be scheduled this month. [MAY] Jim mentioned that the Colorado clubs traditionally have a tune-up day in May to prepare their cars for the Tri-State. We could do that. The Albuquerque Museum / Old Town Car Show is in the middle of the month. The Tri-State in Durango is at the end of the month. [JUN] Pat Hall is open to doing a TUNA in Los Lunas and we just need topics. Possible topics: Things to check periodically; general maintenance. [JUL] The Fourth of July Car Show and Pancakes on the Santa Fe Plaza has been a popular activity in past years. It is on Saturday this year. Our second Old Route 66 cleanup will be scheduled this month. [AUG] The Car Council Picnic. [SEP] The State Fair Car Show. [OCT] Our third Old Route 66 cleanup will be scheduled this month. We can plan a driving tour (Aspencade) up north -- Chimayo, for example. [NOV] Bingo/Auction/Potluck at House of Covers. [DEC] Christmas Party, Charity Donations. Breakfasts will be called as needed. Larry suggests that it may be nice to combine a Corvair activity along with the breakfast. Larry also suggested that it would be impressive to get a tour of the place where they held the Concours du Soleil last summer. Lots of very impressive cars there! Old Business: Robert apologized for not yet having counted the money from the Bingo-Potluck but the count will be available soon. We talked about confusion with the rules of the auction and suggested a more formal way is needed to end the auction and collect bids. The treasurer and a couple of assistants could then tally buyers' totals and they could then pay the treasurer. We could have a last call for the bids. We could set a time at which the bids will be picked up without a last call. Heula suggested that Vickie would be a good person to consult for how to run future auctions. Meeting was adjourned at 6:10 PM. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ REMEMBER-SHIP Larry Yoffee Membership Committee Remember how it first felt when you joined CNM or any organization? You were starting something new, becoming part of something new and joining others who shared in your enthusiasm. Well, that stuff is too good to keep to ourselves. We need to bring new members in so they can feel that way too. Time to begin a membership drive in 2015? Recently at a membership meeting, I asked those in attendance if they had any ideas on how to attract new members to CNM. If you want a noisy crowd to be quiet, I suggest you pose that question because that will be the result. And why not. It may be one of the most difficult things to do in any organization the least of which is a Corvair club. But how? One memorable moment in time that really made me laugh was many years ago I was walking down the isle in Sears at Coronado and coming toward me was a tall bearded man with a rather large belly which only served to enhance the image on his t-shirt. There, on his shirt, was a picture of a little girl with pigtails wearing a dress, white ankle socks and holding an all-day sucker. Written underneath was "Candy, Little Girl?" I think you can get arrested for that today. But short of offering prospective new Corvair club members an all-day sucker, what to do about attracting new folks to CNM. I decided to google the question and there actually is quite a bit of information on the subject of how to attract new members to a club or organization. I have printed them off and will select a few that I think might work and present them at a future meeting. We have done a few Corvair-Only car shows and have attracted the public. But we need to do more. As your membership chair, I say, we are all on the membership committee and each and every one of us has a role to play in attracting new members. And I know we do. Some more than others, but we do and have been doing this for a long time I suspect. So, let's kick off a membership drive in the new year with our collective ideas, set some goals and hopefully welcome some new Corvair families to CNM in 2015! -- Larry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TREASURY REPORT ............. 10-24-2014 to 11-20-2014 ............. The auction started at six o'clock and we kept an eye on the front door, not really expecting that anyone would come. We settled into watching the auction and before long we heard the door close, looked over and to our surprise, in "rolled" Art Gold. Art, hope you don't mind the pun. Art, we thank you for your support. Oh, by the way, the Corvairs didn't make the minimum bid so they are still for sale. -- Pat and Vickie Hall ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TECH TIP -- IS YOUR CORVAIR DRAFTY? Steve Goodman With cooler weather approaching have you noticed any changes inside your Corvair? For instance during warm weather you never felt that draft up your pant leg huh!! How about the breeze coming from under the dash OR the cold air from the fresh air vents. In warm weather that air felt good coming from both sides of the floor boards but not now. Try as you may, pushing harder on the knobs does nothing to stop the onrush of cold air. Late models seem to suffer more from the above maladies. Remove the grill and look at the rubber seal closely, if it is deformed or worse, cracked and broken, it will continue to fight your heater every time you drive. Fixing is pretty easy, removal of the vent door is simple, look and you will see how it is spring loaded. Just lift against the spring and pull outward. You can buy the close density foam already cut to shape from the vendors or in my case I buy it in a sheet and just cut to size. I use pop rivets to assemble, a simple manner of sandwiching the rubber between the two metal halves. Oh, you do have to grind the old rivet heads off but that is easy too. Also the large piece that covers the corner of the floor is caulked in place. If the caulking leaks, air can pass around to top edge and at the same time water can leak on the floor during rains or car washing. Removal of the piece is easy using only two sheet metal screws. Use either rope caulk or silicon in a tube for sealant. The speedometer cable grommet is another source of air leak. I am surprised how much cold air can come from such a small hole stuck so far into the underside of the car but it darn sure can. The only fix is to replace the grommet, it is available from parts cars or vendors. REPRINTED FROM DENVAIR NEWS Rocky Mountain CORSA -- November 2014 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ REPRINTED FROM: LEEKY SEEL CORVAIR MINNESOTA - NOVEMBER 2014 OLD problem - NEW solution Fran Schmit I'm working on a late model with the central air cleaner -- 1964 to 1969 I believe, all use these air cleaner "J-hooks" to attach them to the carbs. Many times, over the years, I have fought with those confounded J-hooks and cussed them up and down. Always saying, "There has got to be a better way". Again, when I was confronted with mounting the air cleaner - - this one needs four of them -- I said "stop - look around this shop and find a solution". I know what I need and I know how big it should be and I know how strong it has to be - - so find something to do it with; something that can be done here and now and that I can transfer to the members so they too can solve this miserable situation. I was surprised when I looked around and saw what appeared to be a good answer... so I tried it. Start with the spring and nail that secure the brake shoes to the backing plate in all CORVAIRs. See pic I just went in my parts can and grabbed a few of them and made a pile... knowing I needed four of them I had to try an idea that had enough parts to complete the project. I had lots of these! Obviously I'm writing this up as I think it was a good idea and that it worked... otherwise I'm just beating my gums and wasting your time. You will have to modify the nail-head. Here's a sketch of what I did to the circular end of this very hard steel - - I didn't know it was such good stuff! Notice when you have removed the shaded areas from the nail-head you end up with a hook. This unit, with the epoxy, is your new J-hook . Here's how it will be used To 'hook on' your air cleaner. That's practically all you have to do to make this work. I used a little epoxy on my first one and then I just welded the next three in - but basically the job is done. You put the new nail into the spring and its keeper as if you were putting on new brake shoes. This is how it looks next to the bad old thing!: I made one and it worked so then I made another and that worked, right away, too. So I made two more and they went on without a hitch... Bingo! At our November Wendell was absent (an accident) but reported $2,873, and a visitor was Jeff Richards who had a 1967 to sell. Art Gold and Cary Hubbard reported that the Car Council had someone to maintain their web page. We learned former non-member Don Heath had died. He supposedly owned a blue 1967 Stinger. Pat Hall made suggestions for our putting on TUNAs as a learning experience, not as a way for non-members to get free work on their cars. We planned a progressive dinner for January. Steve Johnson invited us to come to Double Eagle to see the "Liberty Belle" B-17 winter maintenance work. President Mike Stickler reported the start of his super garage. LeRoy Rogers previewed our February garage tour at the Lewis Antique Auto museum in Moriarty. Brenda Stickler reported on our 2008 Club Calendar project as well as on progress on plans for our Taos Tri-State. Robert Gold reported on a very satisfying trip to the Great Western Fan Belt Toss. An index to all 2007 articles finished up this issue. 2000 - Vol 26 Nr 12 - # 303 On the cover: photos from the tour to the Gilman Tunnel in the Jemez, a board meeting and the 2000 Tri-State. For our November meeting the Galles Chevrolet room was out of commission so we gathered at a restaurant back room. We were glad to see Ilva Walker at the meeting. Wendell reported a sum of $6015 in our treasury. Mark Martinek's report on the Car Council focused on the recent swap meet. The CNM ladies planned to meet in November at Debbie's then go to a winery for a tasting. Our Dec. regular meeting would be greatly abbreviated and held at the Christmas brunch at Kirtland AFB. Steve Gongora planned to take over managing the club's web site from Dennis Pleau and at the board meeting we discussed just what we wanted to see on our web page. The Meissner Award committee reported the recipient of the award for this year had been selected and plaques had been ordered. There was discussion of whether the award should be continued as few current members of the club knew Ike. Should the Meissner and Boydston awards be combined? Stay tuned. An article by Del Patten gave examples to illustrate why he and Mr Murphy are very good friends. Mark Martinek gave us his famous story about trudging up and down a mountain in the Jemez to call AAA for help with Mary Lou's stalled 1964 Monza convertible. Richard Finch sent us an article on restoring a 1964 Monza complete with an up-to-date aftermarket air conditioner. Virtual Vairs tech tips told about a schedule of maintenance for mid-sixties cars, a way to calibrate your speedometer at home and a lot you might need to know about wheel and tire sizes for corvairs. Finally, the issue wrapped up with an index of most of the articles from 2000. 1993 - Vol 19 Nr 12 - # 219 "Merry Christmas and Happy New year" proclaimed the cover. President Del Patten ran the meeting and Treasurer Will Davis said we had $1371 in the piggy bank. New members Clint Collins ('65 convertible) and Rick Dragoo ('63 convertible) were welcomed by Sylvan Zuercher. We discussed next year's events; what would our members like to do? Our Christmas dinner was to be a pot luck, held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, venue no doubt arranged by Chuck Vertrees. We had a great Funkhana and Del said it was really fun and quite a challenge. Eight people drove; Chuck reported their times; Steve got the best score; Debbie and Kim were close behind, trailed by Dennis, Bill, Joel, Carl and Del. Editor Jim suggested ways the Club could improve; naturally he suggested that everyone should write a newsletter article. He pointed out that at all our gatherings we seem to talk endlessly about things we do with our cars, and if we'd just write down these experiences we'd have great material for the newsletter. Alas, since it's much easier to talk than to write, a lot of good stories are forever lost to posterity. An index to the 1993 newsletters completed this issue. 1986 - Vol 12 Nr 12 - # 135 On the cover we said once again "Merry Christmas" and we had hardly any meeting minutes because the last meeting was held at the Furr's Cafeteria in Santa Fe and Club business was not at the front of our minds. Bill Reider organized a photo contest. President Clayborne looked back over the past year and told us some of his tribulations as a diesel mechanic. The Club voted to sponsor a special award, the IKE MEISSNER AWARD, to recognize outstanding Club members who followed in Ike's footsteps as supporters of the Corvair hobby. Bill Reider's technical column told about finding cracks in a rear torque arm. He recommended checking all the rubber bushings then getting a good four-wheel alignment. Specs for such an alignment were provided. An index for 1986 articles completed this issue. 1979 - Vol 5 Nr 12 - # 51 On the cover we provided the solution to last month's crossword puzzle. We had $313 in the bank. Calendars for 1980 were available. We planned to go to Bella Vista for our Christmas dinner. We thanked Ed Black's Chevrolet for sponsoring our Club. An excellent technical article by our German engineer, Markus Rothmeyer, told us how to install a 3.89 differential in a late Corvair. Markus also told us about his experiences driving around New Mexico at Autobahn speeds in a 140-Corvair-powered VW van. After the 1979 newsletter index Jim said that his two years as editor had been fun and educational but required a lot of time. (The year 1979 was BC ("Before Computers") and everything was TYPED on a TYPEWRITER if you can believe that.) Jim thanked Ike for his excellent technical articles and Sylvan for copying, folding, stapling, stamping and mailing the newsletter every month. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CORVAIRS OF NEW MEXICO -- ENCHANTED CORVAIRS -- INDEX FOR 2014 EACH MONTH: Dues Due...............Membership Committee President's Letter...............David Huntoon - Ray Trujillo Meeting Minutes / Board Minutes.....................Secretary Birthdays & Anniversaries..................Sunshine Committee Treasury Report...................................Robert Gold Calendar of Coming Events..................Board of Directors Member Information: Who Has What.....................Everyone Seven, 14, 21, 28, 35 Years Ago................Club Historian JAN Loss of Steve Goodman's 1966 Corvair........................John Dawson, RMC Vairs In The Air Convention "Vair Fare" Cookbooks..............Heula Pittman Anyone Want to Build This?.....................................David Huntoon More of a Good Thing: Christmas Party............................Robert Gold CNM Bingo Party Report..........................................Rita Gongora Route 66 2014 Calendar features Rampside.......................Steve Gongora Some Thoughts on Engine Rebuilding.....................Bob Helt, VEGAS VAIRS Membership List as of 25 December 2013............................the Editor COVER: Larry Blair's NO-AGUA early convertible on a 2010 Garage Tour COVER: The Highway Department has replaced both of our Old Route 66 Signs!
