Conclusions and Directions for Future Work

It is hard to say how accurate the model is at this point. I will be able to compare it once I have point data from all the collections on the Ranch. That being said, I feel that the model can be improved. Adding additional complexity to the model by increasing the parameters that dictate where plants grow can vastly increase the power of the model. Integrating soil, and geology data creates info for chemistry of soils and absorption of water. From there groundwater can be parsed using the power of GIS hydrological tools and integrated into the model.

Overall this was an interesting project that will hopefully expand in complexity as my field work is integrated into the models and maps. It also reinforced that GIS is a very powerful tool for many applications and has given me the skills to accomplish a great many things in my future career.
