1.    Motivation & Background

Nepal has only one international airport throughout the country. The existing international airport is not in a very good state and is a single runway airport. The airport is very primitive with old facilities and very less latest technology. There is only one hanger in the airport and apron space is very limited. In addition to this, the fuel storage area of the airport is in very vulnerable area right next to a busy road and high density of population. Visitor parking space is another issue here with extremely limited space available. With all these issues with the airport, couple of projects has already been started for new international airport in Nepal, but the work has barely started due to various political reasons. This ignited the interest in me to do a project for the site suitability of international airport. My interest in aviation added my desire in trying this project out.
