SYNOPSIS:
Fabiola (Alba Roversi) and her family suffer the misfortune of going
from a very wealthy lifestyle to one of almost total poverty after her
father's death. Doing translations and giving lessons at home,
Fabiola manages to support her grandmother and her siblings. And
this is how, one day, she winds up at Carlos Alberto's (Guillermo
Dávila) home to give lessons to his younger sister and at
the same time manages to win the friendship and acceptance of the entire
Román family and especially of Carlos Alberto, who falls in love
with her from the very beginning. Their relationship will face
numerous obstacles including a romance between Fabiola's sister and Carlos
Alberto's father, who is easily ensnared in her greedy schemes. There
will be tense and dramatic moments that will rock the stability and
happiness of all the families involved but a dramatic reconciliation will
take place which will revive everyone's faith and confidence.
SUBPLOT: Middle-aged Verónica
López (Loly Sánchez), Carlos Alberto's aunt, is fed up
with her husband's womanizing ways. Unable to obtain a divorce from
him, she decides to force the issue by having an affair with Alejandro
Fuentes (Miguel de León), a man several years younger than herself
whom she truly falls in love with. Ernesto López doesn't love
or even care for his wife, but the idea of a woman leaving him bothers
his ego... besides, an extramarital affair is a man's "special
privilege". Not only does he refuse to give her her freedom, he's
not going to put up with her fooling around either.

RESUMEN:
Fabiola (Alba Roversi) y su familia sufren la desgracia de pasar de una
vida opulenta a casi la total pobreza después de la muerte de su
padre. Haciendo traducciones y dando clases a domicilio, Fabiola
logra mantener a su abuela y a sus hermanos. Es así como va
a dar un día a la casa del protagonista, Carlos Alberto Román
(Guillermo Dávila), para darle clases a su hermanita menor.
Pero a la misma vez logra la amistad y aceptación de toda
la familia y especialmente de Carlos Alberto, el cual se enamora de
ella desde un principio. Esta relación será azotada
con numerosos obstáculos incluyendo un romance entre la hermana
de Fabiola y el padre de Carlos Alberto, quien fácilmente cae en
las trampas de ella. Serán momentos tensos y dramáticos
que pondrán en tela de juicio la estabilidad y felicidad de todas
las familias involucradas pero una dramática reconciliación
dará pié para recuperar la fé y confianza de todos.
