SYNOPSIS:
Paola Bracho (Gabriela Spanic) is a selfish woman bored stiff with
her life as wife and mother. She is married to Carlos Daniel
Bracho (Fernando Colunga), a wealthy businessman with two small children.
Paulina Martínez (Gabriela Spanic) is physically identical
to Paola but the similarity ends there because Paulina is a young,
kind-hearted single woman with high moral principles. Upon meeting
Paulina, Paola is amazed at their likeness and quickly starts to
devise a plan to switch identities so that she (Paola) can run off for a
while with her lover in-turn. Paola blackmails Paulina into
assuming her identity. And so Paulina is forced into assuming her
double's place and finds herself suddenly thrust into the role of
wife, mother and daughter-in-law. Determined to help out in any
way possible, Paulina immediately starts to demonstrate her gentle and
loving nature and eventually transforms the life of each family member.
Even Carlos Daniel starts to experience a renewed feeling for his
imposter wife. Paulina too falls deeply in love with him. But just
when Paulina is starting to feel she's finally found her happiness, Paola
returns to reclaim her rightful place within the Bracho family. And
so the battle begins between these two near-identical women to try to
retain, at all cost, that which means so much to each.
SUBPLOT: One of the first to suspect the
existence of two identical women is
Douglas Maldonado (Miguel de León), a self-made multi-millionaire
and one of Paola's ex-lovers. Douglas falls deeply in love with
gentle Paulina, but when he is unable to convince her to marry him or to
have an affair with him, he does, what he considers, is the next best
thing: he talks Paola into running away with him when she next makes
an appearance at the Bracho mansion.

inmediatamente comienza a mostrar a los Bracho su gran amabilidad y amor;
