fire burned nearly 4,000 acres of Pueblo lands burned in the sacred Blue Lake

§ The Rio Pueblo watershed has experienced some
significant changes and there are currently concerns about bank erosion along
the road leading up to Blue Lake.
· A
large portion of publications have shown elevated, sometimes extremely large
post-fire sediment losses before geomorphological stability is re-established.
Post-fire changes to stream channels occur over both short and long terms with
complex feedback mechanisms, though research to date has been limited (Shakesby, 2006).
