= ECE445/545 Fall 2021: Course Textbooks
I will be using a variety of sources for the course (none of them are required). Our primary source will be:
- "Quantum Computation and Information" by Nielsen & Chuang
Another accessible source for a wide range of material is:
- The lecture notes by John Preskill found [http://www.theory.caltech.edu/%7Epreskill/ph219/index.html here]
Nice introductions to quantum computing for non-physicists are given by:
- “Quantum Computer Science: An Introduction” by David Mermin
- “Quantum Computing: A Gentle Introduction” by Eleanor Rieffel and Wolfgang Polak.
More extensive texts on quantum information and computation, which can be excellent material for those wishing to further explore the subject:
- "From Classical to Quantum Shannon Theory" by Mark M. Wilde. The draft, pre-publication copy is available on the [https://arxiv.org/abs/1106.1445 arXiv here].
