Measurement and Geometry for the GED

Introduction Task Process Resources Evaluation Conclusion

Introduction

Twenty to thirty percent of the GED math test contains problems with geometry and measurement.  For many of these, you will need to know about perimeter, area and volume.  Fortunately, you don't need to memorize formulas for the test, but you will need to know how to use them.  So most of this lesson will focus on vocabulary and applying formulas.

Task

The formulas for calculating these are on a page in the test booklet.  There is a link to this page under Resources.
