I am a first-generation Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Anthropology at the University of New Mexico, where I also received my M.S. in Anthropology. As an undergraduate, I studied print journalism and anthropology at the universities of Southern California and Cincinnati.  

My sub-disciplines are archaeology and geochemistry, with the ancient Maya as my dissertation area of focus.
