The book does an excellent job with the nervous system. Please read it closely.

What are afferent nerves? What are efferent nerves? What is the somantic nervous system? What is the autonomic nervous system?

What is the main difference in the parasympathetic nervous system and the sympathetic nervous system?

The cerebral cortex tissue loss is 14%. What are some of the functions of the cerebral cortex? The hippocampus tissue loss is 35%. What is the main function of the hippocampus? The cerebral white matter loss is 26%. What is the main function of the cerebral white matter? Due the nerve cells in the spinal cord also decrease?

What is the practical application of cardiovascular exercise (CV) and the CNS? Will CV exercise retard some age-related changes in the brain? If so, HOW?

Dr. Kravitz presented the NEWest ACSM & AHA (2007) guidelines for Physical Activity. What are the guidelines for Men and Women age 65 and over (or 50-64 with chronic conditions such as arthritis)?
