Figure 3. Woodrat body size as a function of climate: temperature. Minimum average winter temperature explains most of the variance seen in body size.

 

Figure 4. Woodrat body size as a function of climate: precipitation. There is a positive relationship between the amount of rain availability and large body sizes.
